Hometown Love: A Photo Walk Through York City

In early February, I had about 2 hours of free time between meetings in York, Pennsylvania, and decided to go on a 2-hour photo walk throughout Downtown York, the little city where I got my start as a photographer.

My life changed just by choosing to see York as a canvas. The architecture and buildings in these photos are where I learned to shoot fashion with the help of local models and boutiques. I’d photograph downtown several times a month from 2016-2019, exploring all over. I think the way I saw York and always dreamed big despite the perceived limitations of being a small-town artist inspired others to do the same. I fell in love with the creative energy downtown.

This is the first time in my almost 9 years as a photographer that I’m celebrating what is already here. Just the buildings, just the architecture.

All photos are unedited and shot on Kodak Gold 200.

To end my photo walk, I was so excited to run into Melissa, York’s favorite postal worker, and dedicated the final exposure of my Kodak Gold 200 to her.
