Everything to Know About Tulle Queer 2024: Theme, Location and More

Launched in June of 2022 by Lancaster “Tulle Queer” is an ongoing series of colorful portraits, adorned with tulle fabric, that pays homage to my chosen family and an array of LGBTQ+ icons shaping small-town life in Central Pennsylvania. Inspired by my journey growing up in York, PA, and often feeling “too queer,” I strive to create the diverse, queer imagery essential in today's fashion, beauty, and media landscape through this series. Tulle Queer exhibits throughout South Central PA every summer for Pride Month and this year, it’s returning for one night only on June 7th at West Art in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

I'm thrilled to unveil this year's theme, "House of Tulle," an exhibition honoring queer nightlife icons, drag artists, and chosen families, extending the spotlight beyond the dance floor to embrace small-town life. House of Tulle, the third installment of the Tulle Queer series will grace Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for one night only on June 7th, exclusively in the West Art Sanctuary from 5 to 9 PM. In addition to showcasing an entirely new collection of photography, I’m currently curating an art market that will take place during the event featuring LGBTQ+ artists and makers from the area, along with offerings like flash tattoos, tooth gems, and tarot readings. House of Tulle will also feature performances from some of my favorite drag artists and musicians throughout the night. As a photographer who works in the queer nightlife and drag scene in the 717, I believe it’s important to celebrate our community beyond these spaces with a photoshoot and exhibition experience that truly honors their impact.

Please mark your calendars, share this flyer, and spread the word! Please join me in celebrating my new body of work and the array of LGBTQ+ icons shaping small-town life in Central Pennsylvania for Pride month.
